What Are Dental Implants?

No other tooth replacement option can match dental implants’ strength, function, and natural feel. That’s because dental implants replicate the structure of natural teeth, starting with a post that fuses directly to the jawbone, much like the root of a natural tooth.

A specialized connector piece called an abutment attaches the post to a restoration such as a crown, bridge, or implant denture. With a secure foundation, your new custom-crafted teeth will be made from heavier, more durable materials that closely mimic the look of natural teeth and last much longer than the lightweight acrylics of removable dentures.

What Are The Benefits of Getting Dental Implants

Versatile Solutions To
Any Tooth Replacement Need

Single Implants

Individual teeth can become unsalvageable due to fractures, nerve damage, or deep decay without affecting the surrounding teeth. If you’re missing a single tooth or individual teeth in separate areas of the mouth, an individual dental implant recreates the structure and appearance of a healthy natural tooth.

You’ll be able to brush and floss your dental implant normally, and it will blend seamlessly with the rest of your smile. Single implants are an essential way to prevent the surrounding teeth from shifting or becoming worn due to excess strain, making them a wise investment to avoid costly damage in the future.

Dental Implant Bridges

A dental implant bridge is ideal if you’re missing multiple teeth in one area or have several teeth in a row that have become too compromised to save. A dental bridge consists of a false tooth fused to dental crowns on both sides, creating a single restoration that looks like several individual teeth.

We can replace several missing teeth by placing as few as two dental implant posts to support both ends of the bridge. You’ll get the look and function of multiple tooth replacements with a single restoration, making this a more affordable and less invasive way to restore your smile.

Snap-On Denture Implants

If you’ve been struggling with a traditional denture that rubs, shifts, and limits your food choices, you may wonder if there’s a way to make your prosthesis more stable. Implant-supported dentures have customized grooves that snap onto specialized abutments, giving the denture more strength and stability.

Snap-on dentures significantly improve your ability to bite and chew since the prosthesis doesn’t rely on suction to stay in place. We can also use more durable materials to create the denture, so it will last much longer than a lightweight traditional denture without becoming stained or worn down and without needing adjustments or relines to preserve its fit.

Full Mouth Dental Implants

Full mouth dental implants are the gold standard solution to complete tooth loss. This is as close to having a complete set of strong, healthy teeth again. Our streamlined All-On-4 full mouth dental implant protocol enables us to rebuild your full dentition with just a few strategically placed implant posts.

Full mouth dental implants can withstand 99% of normal biting forces, meaning you can enjoy virtually any food, including steak, salad, and nuts. Because your full mouth dental implants will be permanently fixed, you’ll never have to worry about leaving your teeth in a glass at night!

Are You A Candidate For Dental Implants?

Three Easy Steps,
One Amazing Result

Step 1: Let's Talk

No two smiles are alike. That’s why your first step to a fully restored smile starts with a comprehensive consultation. We want to understand what led to your dental health concerns and how you hope dental implants will improve your life.

We’ll collect detailed diagnostic measurements and thorough images, which we’ll use to carefully plan every phase of your treatment and custom design each tooth in your new smile.

In some cases, you may need additional procedures before we proceed with placing your dental implants, such as rebuilding the healthy bone structure with grafts, removing unsalvageable teeth, or treating active gum disease to eliminate bacteria that could compromise how your dental implants heal. We’ll review our recommendations and best course of action so you can make fully informed decisions about your care.

Step 2: The Procedure

You’ll rest comfortably through every phase of your care with safe and effective sedation options to help you relax and ensure a completely painless experience. Depending on your unique case, we’ll perform any necessary treatments to create a suitable foundation for your dental implants and place your posts. If you need tooth extractions, we may be able to place your dental implants directly into the sockets in the same appointment, expediting your process and eliminating unnecessary discomfort.

On the other hand, if you were already missing teeth, we’ll make a small incision in the gums to access the underlying bone and place four implants in predetermined spots along the jawbone. Once these implants are placed, we will attach an abutment connector and place your temporary restoration on top. This temporary set of teeth allows you to enjoy the benefits of your new smile while you heal.

Step 3: Healing & Final Restorations

Over the next several months, your dental implants will integrate into the surrounding bone tissue, becoming a strong, permanent part of your smile. Once your implant posts are fully integrated, you’ll return to our office for your permanent restoration.

We’ll make any necessary adjustments to ensure a balanced, harmonious bite so your dental implants stay strong, healthy, and functional. We’ll also get you set up for regular cleanings and oral health exams to protect your investment and help you enjoy your beautiful new smile for life!
